Choose a clear selfie for a useful comparison
Use a recent, well-lit photo with one adult facing the camera and the whole head visible. A plain background makes the boundary around the hair easier to interpret. Keep hats, strong filters, and hands away from the face. If long hair falls behind your shoulders, include enough of the upper body for the requested length to fit inside the image.
Compare the generated portrait with your original at the same size. Check whether the eyes, jaw, ears, and skin have shifted, because a reference photo does not guarantee perfect identity preservation. Discard a result that changes more than the hairstyle. A clean source photograph usually gives a more useful starting point than a cropped group picture.
Try hairstyles for women or men with specific instructions
Start with the cut itself instead of relying on a gender label. Describe length, parting, fringe, texture, and the amount of volume you want. A request for a short cut with tapered sides and a loose top gives more direction than asking for a fashionable haircut. The preset establishes a shape; your description explains the details that matter to you.
Change one decision at a time when comparing possibilities. Keep your current color while exploring a bob, then consider a different shade separately. Mention whether you prefer a visible forehead or a fringe. For curly hair, describe the curl size and desired silhouette without expecting the preview to predict shrinkage or the way your own hair behaves.
Bring the preview to a haircut consultation
Save the version that communicates your preferred outline and explain which parts you like. Your stylist can assess whether that length, fringe, or layering suits your hair and maintenance routine. A generated image cannot measure hair density or recommend a cutting technique. It can also invent volume that would require products, heat styling, extensions, or a different haircut in practice.
Before making a major change, compare the front outline and the amount of hair around the cheeks. Ask a stylist how the back and sides would work, because one portrait does not show a complete haircut. Keep the image as a reference for discussion rather than a promise of a particular salon result.
Adult portraits and short-term photo handling
Upload only your own adult selfie or a photo of a consenting adult you are authorized to use. Requests involving minors, celebrities, or other public-figure portraits are refused, including requests to imitate a celebrity likeness. Use hairstyle characteristics instead of naming a famous person. Uploads are held by this site only briefly: the default limit is 15 minutes, configurable by the operator, and task completion triggers deletion. The image provider handles its copy under its own retention policy; site deletion does not certify deletion by that provider.
